Briggen Charlotta - Utvandrarna

A couple of years back I worked on a film adaptation of Wilhelm Moberg litterature classic the Emigrants (Utvandrarna in Swedish). Daniel Espinosa was supposed to direct and I was working closely with Production Designer Roger Rosenberg to visualize certain elements of the film. The production have moved on with a new director, but I've noticed that this piece of Concept Art I did is still used in press releases about the film.

I designed the brig Charlotta that carries the family across the atlatic ocean as they emigrate to the New Land. It's based on several historical ships from the era. This image shows the ship on it's perilous journey across the sea as they are just being hit by a storm.
